Terms of use
These terms explain your rights and responsibilities when using PALABIMO. Your service provider is Valde AS, Norway. The subscription provisions apply only if you choose to make a purchase.
1. Your agreement with us
PALABIMO is provided by Valde AS, organisation number 913 305 892, Hafellveien 25, 7125 Vanvikan, Norway. These terms govern your use of our website and learning app. Any specific offer you accept also forms part of your agreement. Contact us at contact@palabimo.com. Mandatory consumer rights always take priority over these terms.
2. Your account
Use your own account, provide accurate information and keep your sign-in secure. Tell us if you suspect unauthorised access. You must be legally able to enter the agreement or have a parent or guardian’s permission where required. Creating an account or receiving an invitation does not authorise a charge.
3. What PALABIMO provides
PALABIMO helps you practise Spanish vocabulary using pronunciation, example sentences, repetition and progress checks. A word marked as learned means you have met the app’s three-correct-answer rule. Stars, rankings and completion milestones measure progress within PALABIMO; they are not official qualifications or guarantees of fluency or permanent recall. You need a compatible device, a supported browser or app version, and an internet connection for online features.
4. Prices and purchases
The advertised monthly price is €6.99. The offer and checkout show the price applicable to your country, currency, taxes, billing period and included access before you pay. A paid subscription starts only when you explicitly complete a purchase and receive confirmation. There is no minimum subscription term, free trial or free-word allowance in the advertised monthly plan. We will give any notice and obtain any agreement required by law or the purchase platform before a price change affects your subscription.
5. Renewal and cancellation
A monthly subscription renews for another month until you cancel. Use the subscription controls of the platform shown on your receipt, following its cancellation deadline. You can turn off renewal during the current period and normally keep access until the period you have paid for ends. “We want you to finish. Then cancel.” means that you decide when to stop. Completing 5,000 words, stopping practice, uninstalling PALABIMO or deleting your account does not cancel a subscription automatically. 6. Refunds and consumer rights
Cancellation prevents future renewal; it does not automatically refund a period already paid for. This does not limit any right to a refund, price reduction, remedy or withdrawal under applicable law. If the service does not match what was agreed, contact us so we can address it. Any legally required information about withdrawal and any request for consent to immediate delivery must be provided during purchase; these terms alone do not waive those rights. Purchases through an app store are also subject to that store’s lawful payment and refund procedures.
7. Third-party services
External sign-in providers and app stores have terms for their own accounts, purchases and services. For a purchase through Apple’s App Store or Google Play, the platform’s purchase conditions apply to its billing and subscription management. Valde AS remains responsible for PALABIMO and for obligations that the law places on us. Our privacy policy explains which providers handle information on our behalf.
8. Fair play and referrals
Do not impersonate others, use an unlawful or abusive username, manipulate scores, evade access restrictions, interfere with the service or access another person’s data. Leaderboard participation is optional and can be changed in Settings. Where a referral offer is available, the eligibility, reward and redemption conditions shown with that offer apply. Sharing a link or registering an account does not by itself earn a reward. Self-referrals, fraudulent accounts and qualifying purchases that are refunded do not earn rewards. Rewards have no cash value and cannot be transferred unless the offer expressly allows it.
9. Content and permitted use
You may use PALABIMO and its content for your personal learning. The app, branding and original materials are owned by Valde AS or used under licence; third-party material remains subject to its applicable rights. Do not resell the service, redistribute protected content or remove rights notices without permission, except where a licence or applicable law allows it. These terms do not give us ownership of your personal information.
10. Updates, availability and account restrictions
We maintain and update the service for security, compatibility, content quality and functionality. Temporary interruptions can occur. For changes that materially affect paid access, we will provide the notice and cancellation or refund rights required by law. We do not exclude our responsibility to provide the service as agreed. We may restrict an account where reasonably necessary to address a serious breach, fraud or a security risk. Where appropriate, we will explain the reason and give you an opportunity to respond; urgent protective action may come first. Contact us if you believe a restriction is wrong.
11. Your information and leaving
Our privacy policy describes how we use and protect personal information. You can download your information and delete your account in Settings, or contact us for help. If you have a subscription, cancel its renewal separately before deleting your account.
12. Changes, complaints and applicable law
We will notify you appropriately of material changes to these terms before they take effect, as required by law. Changes will not remove rights you already have. Send complaints to contact@palabimo.com so we can seek a solution in writing. You can also use the consumer authorities and dispute-resolution procedures available in your country. Norwegian law applies, without depriving consumers of mandatory protections or rights to bring proceedings in their country of residence.
